Please take a moment to read about
Caiden
July
6, 2009
Dear Diane,
This
September Caiden, joined by his mom (Kristen), dad (Dustin), and brother
(Caleb) will leave his home in Farmington Hills to travel to the most magical
place on earth – Walt Disney World Resort® in Orlando, Florida!
This will certainly be a trip of memories to last a lifetime for this young
boy who is living with langerhans cell histiocytosis.
Langerhans
cell histiocytosis is a rare disorder that occurs when there are too many of a
type of white blood cell called a Langerhans cell (named for a German
scientist). These cells normally reside in the skin and help fight infections
and destroy certain foreign substances in the body. In LCH, these cells
accumulate on bones and other parts of the body, particularly the head and
neck, causing a wide range of problems. LCH can also be found in the ribs,
sternum, long bones of the arms and legs, vertebra of the spine, and the
pelvis. Although LCH can occur in people of all ages, a majority of cases
occur in children under 10 years old. Your
support will help replace these worries as his magical wish comes true.
While
on their trip, Caiden and his family will be staying at Give Kids the World
Resort and will have the opportunity to visit all of the Disney Parks.
He is super excited to meet all the Nickelodeon characters.
Their fun-in-the-sun vacation couldn’t come at a better time, as
Caiden and h is family can set the complications of their every day life aside
and concentrate on being a family.
In
addition to Caiden’s love for Disney he enjoys the Wiggles, reading books
and watching Nickelodeon! On
behalf of Caiden, his family and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan, thank
you for helping to Share the Power of a Wish®!
Best
wishes,
Kedrin Gall
